Santa Teresa 1796 rum is produced in Venezuela and aged using the solera system that blends rums aged between 4 and 35 years. Before bottling, the rum is aged for a further year in large French oak casks to marry the blends.
This rum was first created in 1996 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the establishment of the distillery, the Santa Teresa Hacienda.

Nose: unmistakably rum, with wood, vanilla buttercream and spice giving way to a touch of wasabi-style, nose clearing alcohol. The nose kind of reminds me of aged Canadian rye. On the palate, it’s round and smooth, with dry wood blending with a touch of sweetness, complemented by baking spices such as clove and cinnamon. The long finish has some integrated, mellow heat and is very nice. This is a very nice sipping rum.
Nice light amber in the glass.
In the nose, resin and wood are very present, followed by citrus fruits and fresh grass.
On the palate soft and harmonious, candied fruits, slight nuances of vanilla, cacao and wood.
In the finish some alcohol sharpness with chocolate and wood.
A well-made and honest rum, not sweetened. For beginners who want to encounter an "unvarnished" rum. Of course also for connoisseurs. 7+
Everything u want from a rum. The smell, after taste and smooth. Subtle flavours you notice after every glass. There is a very whiskey feel to this rum. A go to when you want to relax.
My wife found this for my 40th and it was great way to celebrate a bottle you don,t want to finish (not easy to find) but want to keep drinking
A fine rum. Not to sweet. A nice and slightly dry palate, but overall lacking a bit of body for my taste
Purchased a bottle online. Complex flavors of fruit, vegital (grass) and something I can only describe as age or musk, reminded me of some sort of leather note. Different and very enjoyable. After taste lingered with light sweetness. Poured a small glass and enjoyed neat, looking forward to trying it with a few drops of Spring Water. I saw where other reviews stated as good for mixing. I wouldnt put this Rum in a mixed drink, the flavor is far to interesting and enjoyable.
A real sipper, good stuff, one of those that should be found in any personal bar for fine moments. For the moment, the best I found in its price range.
Shares a lot with Diplomatico coming from Venezuela, without that super uniqueness that has so many people in the Diplomatico camp. One of those ones where after the first sip I looked at the glass and said 'wow!' Nice and sweet, full flavour and a little kick. Will definitely pick up a bottle of this when I get the chance and I will not be wasting it on a mixer.
Its nice... sweet... little bit spicy and fruity and with woody taste... somewhere in my lower top 10 (6-7) with diplomatico reserva exclusiva at the top.
The Rum Barrel Review
"On the nose there’s a lovely dark profile. Fresh ground coffee, dark chocolate, caramel, vanilla, plums. There are some tropical fruits like pineapple and passion fruit, followed by a slight grassy note. Nutmeg, old leather, tobacco and white pepper. On the palate it goes down so easy. Milk chocolate, vanilla, honey, mango, toffee and cashews. Canned pineapple, blackcurrant, coconut cream and coca cola. The tobacco note is back along with some cinnamon. Not crazy sweet, fairly well balanced and easy going. Cocoa butter and orange marmalade. Towards the end is where you get a bit more oak spices and some alcohol heat. The finish is short with cocoa nibs, some oak tannins and maple syrup."
Has a nice light sweet vanilla note.
"Spicy notes and a oaky lavour are very pleasant and not overpowering."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Je veľmi jemný so stredne dlhou dochuťou.
