Abuelo Oloroso Sherry Cask 15-Year

Sweet nose with notes of brown sugar bananas and vanilla. Medium sweet with a long finish.

All 15 year double finished Abuelo rums were excellent with subtle distinct differences. The sherry cask was not as dry as the port cask and was very pleasing. Dark rich coloration with notes of oak and sherry. All in all very nice rum highly recommend.

A little spice, caramel, vanilla, smooth, nice colour. A real surprise.

I got this as part of the tasting club membership. It has a nice nutty nose with the sherry influce. The sherry comes through on the palate as well. Nice sweetness, and makes for a good sipping rum.

A very nice rum with appropriate sweetness, several different flavors, and a decent finish. I preferred the Abuelo Two Oaks but this is a nice rum.

Pleasant sherry-like aroma and a smooth and agreeable enough taste. However, I found that the sherry overtones really overpowered the flavour, to the extent that, to me, it barely even tasted like rum any more. So, overall, rather disappointing.

Silky smooth and warm, distinct flavors delicious aroma.

Sweet but not overly sweet. You definitely get some chocolate tones on the back end. This makes for a very enjoyable sipping rum. The nose has some vanilla and notes of molasses.
