Ron Zacapa XO Rum is produced in the highlands of Guatemala where it is distillled from fresh cane juice. The rum is then aged from 6 to 23 years at 7544 feet above sea level at 62 °F (17 °C) using the solera process. The solera aging process incorporates barrels that previously held American whiskeys, sherries, wines and Cognac
The unique Ron Zacapa XO glass decantur features an impression of a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle

Absolutely good quality sipping rum. I prefer it on ice but nest is fine. Smooth, honey and caramel but not too sweet. A bit expensive compared to other quality rims, but I am happier with one of these in my cellar. And fancy bottle to impress.
Smoooth rum.
Fantastic taste, not to sweet.
Love the smell.
Maybe the best I tasted yet, though sweet, sweet.. complex, exotic fruit, great great great
Came home and found a big box at my door. Friend left me a 50th birthday present. My first rhum, and still a favourite. Comfortably sweet, but deliciously spiced. Watched a James Bond movie with this rhum, made the movie for me. Zacapa was the start for exploring much more. I involved my uncle who joins me every sunday now. It was the start for his rhum love too, though he swears with cognac, he fell for rhum now.
Pity the high price. Today we found exellent rhums for half the price but zacapa still has that special place. Well, as i read around here, one never forgets its first rhum. Give it a try and pay it once, it's really worth it.
Tohle je absolutni topka pro vyjimecne prilezitosti. Cena odpovida kvalite.
Hezky kulata vune i chut...uzasny rum, ktery se skvele rozvine pri pokojove teplote.
I got a bottle for Christmas. Almost gone by New Year’s. It’s too sweet for many but I understand how and why it’s held in high regard. Priced over my $50 limit at around $100. For $75 you can get Foursquare. But it is a really nice desert sip.
Rich aroma, smooth taste. Full of taste, slighty woody, dry, liqourice flavour with a reasonable sweetness. Easily sipped over a cube of ice. Slight bitterness on the edge of the tongue towards the end. A well rounded creation. Worth grabbing when you see it.
La ostiaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Fine let me say this is really overpriced for what it does. It has some noticeable undertones, I guess some kinda wood, but turns out to be a rather annoying thingie in the mouth. Not sweet, which I do not mind, but kinda lacking in terms of flavour and somewhat unpleasant in the mouth. The finish is surprisingly very smooth. Overall, it is a very good rum, but the best part for me is the smell and aftertaste.

It is rich with coffee notes and a little tobacco.

It's a good rum, but for the price I expected a superb rum. When you get your hands on it, see its really nice presentation, you get excited to see whats inside. The smell already tells you it won't be as smooth as expected. It maybe complex, yes, but the taste could be much smoother for this price. I know El Dorado 15 is far far far more sweeter, but at half the price it is double as smooth. Even Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva for less than half the price is smoother that the Zacapa XO imho. Definitely not worth the money, althoug it is a good and complex rum.
