Ron Zacapa XO Rum is produced in the highlands of Guatemala where it is distillled from fresh cane juice. The rum is then aged from 6 to 23 years at 7544 feet above sea level at 62 °F (17 °C) using the solera process. The solera aging process incorporates barrels that previously held American whiskeys, sherries, wines and Cognac
The unique Ron Zacapa XO glass decantur features an impression of a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle

A very nice, smooth aged rum. Like rum shoud taste.
This is much smoother and fuller in flavour than the 23 (which I think is quite 1 dimensional) a long lasting taste which is slightly spicey but not everyday so. It was my favourite rum for a long time until I tried some in the £200+ bracket. For £100 it's about as good as you can get along with diplomatico 2000 and el d 21. The bottle looks great too!
Un de mes rhums vieux préférés. Un poil au dessus du Solera 23.
One of my all time favorite aged rums. Very smooth and goes great with coke or straight
One of my favorites in my collection so smooth straight up In the nose about an eight in the mouth and nine no burn
You will enjoy this delicious rum. Great color, aroma and flavor. Light sweet warm vanilla spice flavor.
Be cool,
jt
“Mon amie laissez le bon temps rouler!”
I have to say upfront that I am not a huge fan of the Zacapa 23, but I had read a lot of good press on the XO so decided to give it a try. So glad I did! The extra aging really makes a difference. Like the Plantation 20th Anniversary, this one is a bit sweet but even more nicely balanced and has a fantastic smooth slow burn on the finish. Will have to pick up another bottle soon as this one is disappearing quickly!
Really nothing wrong with it at all. A nice smooth rum with no after-taste.

It is rich with coffee notes and a little tobacco.

It's perfect in every quality a great liquor should be; taste, aromas, color, it is top scores. The decanter is the nicest I've seen. If you can afford it,don't hesitate.
