Guatemala | Aged | 40% ABV | Column Still (1-4)
Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.
The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.
The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

Smooth and wonderfully flavorful and usually found for a great price. This is easily one of my go-to rums. Easy to sip neat or on ice.
its ok. nothing outstanding but easy to drink. at the same price you can get yourselve a bottle of brugal 1888 which in my opinion has a lot more to it.
Very interesting flavor profile. You can tell that this was made with sugar cane, which makes it too sweet. Could be a decent mixer.
Another good rum, seems a bit heavier on the molasses and has a bit of a 'bite'.
This is one of the absoulte bettet rums I have been drinking. But it is not the best.
It will always be one standing in my liqour cabienet
When i hear the word rum 1st thing coming in mind is Zacapa! So unique compared to most rums in this price point (somewhat intense-complex-mysterious blend, sweet in a promised way without overwhelming with a magic aroma) but even if i love this flavour profile it needs more maturness for a higher mark.
Très bon rhum sucré, très savoureux, très accessible au gout, plaira à tout le monde
Sweetly, it’s a candy! But would drink only on rare ocations, when there is nothing interesting to explore around.
Not a bad tasting rum, I was expecting a little more from this, but I wasn't hurt by it. (only the price)
7 at best. Just not as good some other quality rums in this price range.
Actually quite dry and oaky.
"Flavour builds if you leave the rum in your mouth for a little longer allowing it to coat the palate."
Wonderfully intricate with honeyed butterscotch, spiced oak and raisined fruit...

"The interplay between the wood of the barrel and the liquor contents gives the alcohol its flavour, colour and character..."

Decanted, the rum displays a surprising body in the glass for something so apparently light, and has slow and strong legs down the side of the glass.

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
