Guatemala | Aged | 40% ABV | Column Still (1-4)

Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.

The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.

The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

My go to when I can't get my favorite navy strengths. It's not super strong, but very flavorful.

I prefer more unique and aggressive styles, but I appreciate that a good Solera tends to be very approachable. Easy to drink straight. But, I don't think the additional "Solera years" adds much over a slightly "younger" and cheaper bottle in the style. Anything that sets this apart requires a more subtle palate than mine.

Had a sip of this a while back. Smooth, decent rum, but had some odd flavors to me. Very sweet. Didn't stand up to the hype.

I know, it's got some sugar in it. You know what? Good. It's soooo smooth that it's worth it.

In the beginnen I had to get used to the taste. Because I more like the sweeter stuff. But after the second glass I began to love it.
And with Coke? Very good.

En av de bästa rom jag smakat. mycket smak,en del styrka och ganska söt. Men om den är sötad så är det inget problem för är det en god rom så är det.
