I just can't give white rum high scores unless they have some depth and balance. This is damn near impossible to achieve without aging. My standard for white is Plantation. This is close. This is very good. But it is a mixer. You are not going to sip this. You aren't going to pull this out of your cabinet when a friend you haven't seen for 10 years shows up. It's a good mixer.
Exceptional flavor and yes grass and citrus are there but giving it a smooth sipping quality. I had no idea Louisiana could produce a fine Rhum of this quality and taste. (I had posted on this but under the Cane Land name and just wanted consolidate comments on it.)
FKA "Cane Land". 40% ABV. At first I thought I was drinking their 45% ABV agricole-style rum (the one I ordered). It certainly tasted like one! Lovely nose; funky and very grassy. Full-flavor palate. Then I realized I had been served the standard White, and I was very impressed! A stark departure from most “white” rums I’ve tried. Now I’m even more eager to try the agricole. 7+, 8-?
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I’m pretty impressed with this little distillery out of Baton Rouge, LA. For a basic white rum it had a very gentle nose with notes of sweetness. The taste has notes of citrus and grass (from the sugar cane). This is definitely not a sipper but absolutely an amazing mixer.
