United States | Spiced | 35% ABV
Launched in 2011, Bacardi Oakheart is the newest addition to the extensive Bacardi collection.
This spiced rum is aged for 1 to 2 years, filtered using a proprietary process, and then flavored with various spices including maple, nutmeg, cinnamon and honey.
Bacardi Oakheart took over two years to name and more than 2700 names were considered. The winner, Oakheart, is a reference to the charred American white oak barrels that house the rum while it ages.

Bacardi Oakheart is the perfect mixing rum. Try it with Coke. I wouldn't say is a sipping rum but in case of emergency it is not offensive. And the price is very reasonable.
Is this the greatest rum on the market? No it is not, but it is cheap and mixes with anything. For actual depth of flavour, it comes up short but this rum is the kind of rum that everyone will drink. Even those that claim to hate rum. It's like a juice, it barely any kick or flavour just smooth and overly sweet.
As commercial rums goes, this one is a winner. I don't normally drink Bacardi except for that one. That alone tells you this is a winner. Obviously though, it IS a Bacardi rum, so don't expect it to be better than a Diplomatico or a 20 year old rum...
If I can drink a rum neat, it passes. This one has 1pt over that mark.
You won't believe it If you see the price, actually almost a budget rum. But I enjoyed it, some coke in that and your good to go on a night out!
Lots to like about this, the sweet Smokey flavour sets it on the same line as Havana Club 7 but definitely a sweeter taste, and no thoughts of an old ashtray!
'oak barrels to impart a rich and smoky taste'
"Bacardi Oakheart rum review by The Ultimate Rum Shack"
Smooth but it is also very sweet.
"There's a slight burn of alcohol and the spicing is maybe just a bit too much. There is also a slightly jarring aftertaste. Itβs a bit smoky and oily."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
