United States | Spiced | 35% ABV
Launched in 2011, Bacardi Oakheart is the newest addition to the extensive Bacardi collection.
This spiced rum is aged for 1 to 2 years, filtered using a proprietary process, and then flavored with various spices including maple, nutmeg, cinnamon and honey.
Bacardi Oakheart took over two years to name and more than 2700 names were considered. The winner, Oakheart, is a reference to the charred American white oak barrels that house the rum while it ages.

Not very exciting and can be substituted by a lot more choices for less money.
Probably deserves a 5, but is getting an extra point because it’s Barcardi and so I expected it to be more crap. Definitely a mixer, not recommended for sipping.
It is a rum that is good with coke. Good vanilla and smoke flavor.
I was not expecting to think much of this as the cheaper Bacardis have not normally impressed me. It's very sweet, but not as much, say, as Old J Original. It's not as vanilla as that one either, though the flavour is up there! Ther is a bit of oak and caramel in this too. Not much of an aftertaste but a decent smell. It would be easy to diss this, but it's not aiming to be a great rum, just an enjoyable drinkable one at a good price.
I love this rum! Tried it because it was on sale. Never knew it was a Bacardi product. It is my new favorite. So smooth you can sim it on ice. Slightly sweet, hints of vanilla and cinnamon. Smells as good. I don't bother with any other. Mixes with anything. Yum
I had this a few times its a nice caramel / vanilla flavor smooth to sip over ice and a pleasant aroma in the glass. Good price and available everywhere I never mix my drinks so I cant say what its
like after its been ruined with pop. LOL
Reminds me very much of captain Morgan and at £16 a bottle what more can you expect.
J'ai bien apprécié ce rhum épicé, pas juste le goût du sucre!!
Don't typically like mixing but tried this neat and knew it needed something and a nice cold coke was what the Dr. ordered.
'oak barrels to impart a rich and smoky taste'

Smooth but it is also very sweet.
"There's a slight burn of alcohol and the spicing is maybe just a bit too much. There is also a slightly jarring aftertaste. It’s a bit smoky and oily."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

As far as spiced rum goes, Oakheart is good in my opinion- as long as your mixing it and not expecting much. To me, it’s a nice alternative to a regular rum and coke or Cuba Libre. I’m sure there are other recipes out there too if you like a little spice in your rum.
