United States | Spiced | 35% ABV
Launched in 2011, Bacardi Oakheart is the newest addition to the extensive Bacardi collection.
This spiced rum is aged for 1 to 2 years, filtered using a proprietary process, and then flavored with various spices including maple, nutmeg, cinnamon and honey.
Bacardi Oakheart took over two years to name and more than 2700 names were considered. The winner, Oakheart, is a reference to the charred American white oak barrels that house the rum while it ages.

To make it a little bit sweeter, I decided to mix it with maple
syrup, which made a quite good combination.
It was my first, it is nice, but too pricey in Australia.
Honestly, for the price point, I don’t hate it. It’s very brown sugar and vanilla in a standard way. Definitely steps up a cocktail a bit. I’d recommend it overall because it would appeal to most people
Gives a little extra smokiness to your usual Bacardi spiced. Pretty nice in soda. Not meant to be tried alone though.
For the price of it, this is a really nice rum and easily recpmenable. Even better without a mixer
At £16 for a litre it ok value, better rums available
In einigen Cocktails oder mit Cola trinkbar jedoch nichts besonderes und nichts für ein zweites Mal.
The only rum choice at a business event. Sweet vanilla flavor. Drinkable. Can’t see mixing this with coke . Sweetness would be overpowering
I did not expect a rating this high for a budget Bacardi rum, but this spiced rum deserves a 6. It is smooth enough to drink neat and ice cubes improve it. It is sweet with 20 gpl of added sugar, so it is not a sugar bomb. This one can also be used as a seasoning for tropical drinks.
To give you an idea how strong the taste of this one is, I used it as a seasoning for a fairly bland drink and the Oakheart flavor still dominated. It was 1 part Oakheart, 4 parts cheap white rum, and 8 parts coconut water. You get the picture?
'oak barrels to impart a rich and smoky taste'

Smooth but it is also very sweet.
"There's a slight burn of alcohol and the spicing is maybe just a bit too much. There is also a slightly jarring aftertaste. It’s a bit smoky and oily."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

So picture this, an Australian in USA goes to the bar asks what rum they have ..... guess who made a very recurring appearance ? This guy. At first I wasn't too impressed, however after a few you kinda get used to the taste , even for a non spiced fan. I did polish off a bottle whilst in Florida, good times.
