Nicely balanced deeb taste. Light on nose but strong in taste
A nice amber colored rum. The nose is very interesting with notes of rubber, black pepper, underplayed melasse sweetness, banana and a hint of hazelnuts. Without knowing, im geussing it's a pot still destillation, as the palette is a little funky and brine like, with the same notes found in the nose. It has a nice long heated finish with shimmering notes of banana and black pepper. Very good and boderline to a 9 rating, but a little expensive.
This is one of the best rums I have tasted and one I am proud of having in my collection. It is an old (26 years) full body old rum from Barbados finished on sherry and madeira casks. The taste is an explosion in the mouth, it is at the same time sweet, round, fruity and a cigar. The after taste just keep going on for 5 to 10 minutes. This is an amazing rum! The prices is not low expect ~130€ for a bottle.
Different, in a good way? 😅
Nose: subtle sweetness, bananas, hints of (aromatic pipe) tobacco.
Tongue: just slightly woody, (aromatic pipe) tobacco'ish and fragrant, with a well balanced sweetness which evolves into a somehow fragrant Floral aftertaste.
Overall very different, interesting and recommended .
Ps. Pairs well with a cigar
First read about this rum and mystical distillery when TheFatRumPirate reviewed this very rum and been trying to find one ever since.
After over half a year I finally managed to get my hands of a bottle.
The build up for this rum has been incredible, tried to find as much information about this rum and still as I could. So I had quite a good idea of the kind of rum I was buying, its not your typical Barbados rum, so be sure to do some research before purchasing this beauty!
For me it was love at the first sight and the only reason for me not giving it a 10 is because I hope some day I find an even better rum! :)
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

What a surprise. Pleasant and bitty aroma. Taste have some smoked notes. More on the whiskey side of rum. It is not quite my cup of the therefor, but it is definitely an exquisite one.
Found it in Stockholm, bar Akurat.
