It would be silly not to have a few bottles of this on hand. This rum is extremely versatile... great for sipping neat or over ice, and at $22-24 per bottle, you don’t feel bad mixing it either. This works really well in a rum old fashioned :-) The bottle is also really neat. My only complaint is that the glass is so dark you can’t tell how much rum is left. If you always have a 2nd bottle on hand, that’s not really a problem.

Tørr, 46% uten noe utpreget alkohol smak eller duft. Nydelig duft av fat. Tenker whisky lovers liker denne.

Nose is pleasant and mellow with tones of cream, honey and wood berries.

Taste is very spicy and peppery, but juicy as well. Otherwise its pretty ordinary but nice Bajan rum (with all the honey and wood tones). And a very dry one. I like it more than Doorlys 12. Yet that spiciness is so high (much more spicy than whisky like Talisker 10 for example), that its less of a daily sipper. I had the export 46% version. I dont expect the 43% version to be that much different though. I find more interesting taste in MGXO. And its also more enjoyable on daily basis. On the other hand at least the 46% version has more pronounced tastes of dark caramel and honey than MGXO. Its really more "in your face". If you compare the two, I would suggest drinking RL Seale after MGXO. RL Seales will overpower your tastebuds. MGXO is more pleasant and rounded. I will definitely buy another bottle of this rum.

Solid 8/10 from me! I hope, that they will ditch the stupid bottle and lower the price slightly.

P. S. I now rate this one 9/10. Its the top daily Bajan for me. MGXO is still great. But with the new bottle its less of a bargain.

Hold on to yer boots, me hearties, this rum'll knock you on your butt!

Strong vanilla/cherry/oak flavor with a big ethanol bite (and kick)! It reminds me a lot of Bayou spiced without all the spice. It has a strong oak flavor. A decent all-around non-spiced rum.

Buttery finish, with a nice subtle sweetness mid palate and easy spice that doesn’t reach a burn. Oaky barrel and molasses traces on the nose.

Easily a go-to for home cocktail enthusiasts stocking aged bajan rum, or just looking to sip a suave rum neat or on the rocks.

Edit: Tasted this against Doorly’s 8 and it’s much smoother and complex. Way less fiery on the backend, and none of the sweetness up front from the 8.

YES. YES. YES. This is what I'm talking about! Great flavor profile that hits you hard up front and carries through. Thinner mouth feel with a great alcohol burn that keeps you coming back. If I had to compare, it's like El Dorado 12 but without the buttery sugar. Great tasting rum. Did not expect how good this one is! My new favorite. Got a bottle from TW for 22.99. Cannot beat that!

Excellent nose of caramel and wood. Warm & peppery on the tongue with a dry finish.
A pure and well balanced barbadian rum.

This rum epitomizes what a fully dry, unadulterated, and well aged Bajan rum should be. Starts with a peppery spiciness, followed by notes of oak and finishes with a bouqet of caramel, vanilla, and tropical fruit. Rich, decadent, and smooth.
Milder than the Doorlys series from Foursquare, but still well balanced and complex.
This rum deserves a special spot on the shelf - preferably close to a rocks glass.
