The bottle tells me their is some cheap stuff in here, for the most part I do not like or trust too exotic bottles, but in reality this is quit a distinctive sipper; great to sip at the end of a good meal. It is rather light, crisp but full of flavour; oak, salted caramel, vanilla, banana and fruity as well as spicy notes. In the finish there are also mocha/dark chocolate present.
Compared to the Doorly's range I would say this is a dryer, more spicy and a slightly less fruity style of rum. No critisism, just my observation. I have more occasions where I would prefer a bottle of Doorly's (5yo/8yo) as those are more easygoing but as I said, after a rich dinner alongside a nice mocha this is an absolute treat.
Just that bottle......
One of the best rums I have had under £40. Smooth and balanced, it tastes better than more expensive rums.
This was recommended to me by a store employee. They have me the backstory about how the bottle was designed after a ship caught on fire decades ago. And the company kept with the melted neck design. Too bad the juice isn't up to par with the story. Quite harsh! Plenty of burn and utterly forgettable. Not worth even trying. I almost took it back for a refund. But I'll use it in Pina Coladas. 🍹
This! Is a masterpiece. I didn't believe all the feedback and hype surrounding it, until the very moment that i saw it upon a shelf! It beckoned to me! The bottle shape, its decoration, its presence and dignified appearance, i swear dammnit it shouted right into my ear: "grab me and drink me"! I gazed upon it decisively and saw the red label "Export Proof". Double checked the % and indeed, it said 46! I immediately grabbed it by its neck and dragged it to the the cashier. 48 euros. Pirate flask, check! Seale, check!!! Bajan, check! I immediately opened that too, even if not one day ago, i uncorked the Appleton 21. Boy, what a strong and pleasant smell! Wooden cask, reeks or "premium"! Great bite, mediocre pleasing burn, feels spicy, tastes fruity, with a very smooth texture and a memorable aftertaste! This is absolutely a "flagship" rum, even if it costs less than half of one's price! Keep up the good work and keep the damned sugar and additives, as faraway as possible, from bottles of rum! Yarr
Dejlig rom fra Barbados, let drikkelig men stadig masser af smag. Kort eftersmag😋
Good taste, but lacks a little bit of flavor. It's not as sweet as other rums
FourSquare has done it again! This one is now one of my favorites. Excellent on the nose and taste.
"Buttery, nuttiness hits me and washes over my tongue in waves. It’s magical stuff..."

The nose is classically Bajan.
"It leaves notes of oak, nuts and smokiness behind in the finish which is long and pleasant. ."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
