Pyrat XO Rum is produced from nine different Caribbean rums that are blended and then aged up to 15 years in used American sweet oak barrels.
The squat Pyrat XO rum bottle shape is inspired by the typical design of rum bottles kept by pirates and ship captains in the 19th century.

Was a gift. I enjoyed it but glad I did not buy it. Its better than average and I will never say no to it. But I prefer others better.
A nice rum to be enjoyed with your favorite mix. Sweet tasting
Strong and probably artificial tangerine smell and taste. Again after reading the label its not rum so I guess there are lot of aromas added.
I did purchase this as 3 other rums to spend with us this year xmas holidays.
Today its 21st of December and i just open the beautiful bottle - which your better half can use after as vase 😉
I like the nice orange taste... and if you add the special xmas price below 25€ 🤷🏻♂️
Enjoy ... life is too short !
Fairly standard/basic... Nothing to make it stand out. Would not prioritize as a re-purchase when I have so many others on my wish list, but certainly would be happy if received again as a gift.
"Had wine not been the drink of choice 2,000 or so years ago, Jesus would have probably turned every drop of water on earth into Pyrat Rum XO Reserve"

"it’s like an orange Chuck Norris came through the joint, belted out a roundhouse kick to the face..."

A very definite hit of oranges.
"The orange taste is very much at the forefront and the burn leaves behind a bitter tang of orange peel."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I am a rookie taster and am developing my likes and dislikes while I learn the subtleties of what runs offer. This rum was a gift from a friend that enjoys rums and he thought it would be a good one to sample.
At first sip I found it to feel full bodied on the tongue but whoa! The initial taste was like gasoline to me. So I did as suggested and let it mellow with a cube of ice. After about 15 minutes the taste definitely improved. I cannot tell you about the subtleties of flavours other than it’s orange overtone that for me was pleasant enough. Next time around I may add a lemon twist or something to change things up a bit. Overall a decent sipping rum with potential to mix.
