Pusser's British Navy Blue Label ABV40 3-Year rum

Pusser's British Navy Blue Label ABV40 3-Year

Virgin Islands, British | Aged | 40% ABV

The Great British Admiralty first served rum daily to its Royal Navy sailors over 300 years ago until the ration was abolished in 1970. In 1979 Charles Tobias bought the recipe rights, formed Pusser’s Ltd. in the British Virgin Islands, and for the first time made the rum it available for public consumption.

Pusser’s British Navy rum today is the same blend of five West Indian rums as the British Admiralty issued to sailors.

Known as the “single malt of rum” Pusser’s British Navy rum is pot stilled using a similar method as that for single malt scotches, and with no artificial flavors is 100% natural.

And while it's mildly sweet I don't find much redeeming value in this. For the price you can get something far superior.

Classic history aside, it’s a rock solid poor: Painkillers yes, but a solid mixer with most.

Yes it is Pusser's and enjoyed mixed or neat. Sits well with my naval heritage and background. Too bad we cannot pipe Up Spirits every day any more. Damn Politicians.

I find it very easy to drink. It reminds me of a chocolate sold in Australia that I have had, on and off for years - Old Jamaica - so sipping it brings back memories. One of my relatives used to drink it when they were in the merchant marine too, so when I saw it on the shelf I thought I'd give it a try. For me it has a fruity, maybe a little medicinal smell. It's not watery but a little liqueur like in consistency with warmth - very nice.

From the nose I thought I was in for an explosion as it had a strong spicy pungent scent. There was a definite spice hit in the first moment but it smooths out quickly to have a nice musty oak flavour with hints of.... Vanilla? Very mild but we'll balanced hints.
This is good stuff. sip or mix, whatever you want.

Probably a mixer but good. Has a hint of tea or some other British shit

Strong flavors may be overbearing for most, but it still delivers.
