Multiple | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still
Plantation XO 20th Anniversary rum is a combination of pot-stilled and column-stilled Barbadian rums that are initially aged in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks for 12-20 years. They are then transported to France for a second 12-18 months aging in small French oak casks.
The first bottle of Plantation XO 20th Anniversary was created for the head of Cognac Ferrand Estate Alexandre Gabriel to honor his 20th year running the company. This special gift has resulted in the bottling we see today.

Probably one of the best rums i have tasted, regarding always the value for money factor.
After a session of Plantation tastings this has to be the winner. I give it ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I’m am both impressed and disappointed.
This is not what I expected.
The color is light brown and the bottle is very distinguish.
Based on the great characters given by others - my expectations was somewhat high.
The smell of the rum, that meets your nose - truly - fantastic (10).
I sense Orange, vanilla and other sweet fruits.
Zipping provide additional taste:
Chocolate.... Lots of Chocolate.
You also clearly get hints of the Orange - and the vanilla.
All the great stuff are in there.
It is not as smooth nor as sweet as I had expected (6).
There are plenty of rums out there that are very much more sweet than this one.
The afterburner staying for a long time - giving you a mixture of all impressions.
No doubt, it is a tasty rum - but to me, it is not sweet enough (6).
The tasting impression is to mixed for me.
I have been looking forward to trying this rum for a while. I’m am both impressed and disappointed. This is not what I expected. This rum is incredibly smooth and refined. That said, it is way too sweet for my palate. 10 for smoothness, 5 for sweetness. Rounding it up to an 8, then deducting a point for added auger. 7 it is.
Great choice, smooth taste, excellent price/quality range
I was excited to purchase this bottle after reading do many raving reviews. Its about $50 USD. Upon opening the carton, the bottle is beautiful. One of the best looking bottles on my shelf. Looks very high end and fancy. Once I opened the bottle, there's no noticeable alcohol burn smell and no overpowering molasses smell. The scent was a happy medium. I poured a glass straight and let it sit for a couple minutes. The color is an amber red color and poured smooth. There was no change in scent at this point. Upon tasting, it was smooth, with a sweet taste in the front. Not like molasses or any syrupy additives. More of a natural sweet flavor, which I respect. Slight minor burn at the end but nothing off putting.
For the price of this rum, it is a great sipper. It doesn't surpass triple digit priced rums, but is top line at its price point.
This was my first quality rum, and I really enjoyed it! A good choice, without a doubt. Smooth, with a delicious taste.
You can't go wrong here! Top choice! No mixer! Must have!
It tastes pretty much like a coconut liqueur.
"An overly sweet saccharin note which make the rum taste artificial. ."

Very tasty, but the afterstate could last a bit longer in my opinion.
