Pampero Aniversario Reserva Exclusiva

It's pretty cheap, so I figured the leather (or whatever) bag it came in was just a gimmick to make it look more exclusive. But it was actually quite good! I've been sipping this often. It's good value for the money.

Nice colour, good odour and good taste. Very nice rum.

A rather sweet (sweeter than what the rather dry smell suggests), dark coloured rum, that fills your palate with warmth & hints of brown sugar, dried fruits & a good dose of oak. Don't expect, though, many thrills & surprises, its character isn't too complex, but on the other hand you can't go wrong with this beautiful sipping rum, especially on a cold winter night! For me, Venezuela is one the best rum producing countries & this rum just confirms the rule!

The taste is good. The leather packaging is very nice

The color is golden reddish, the taste is soft and sweet with aromas of wood, vanilla and toasted hazelnut. In the top 3 of Venezuelan's rum with Diplomatico reserva exclusiva and Santa Teresa 1796.

This rum is fantastic if you like woody, smoky sweet and caramel all in one. There is really nothing that compares to this flavor wise. Other rums gravitate around it, but I personally like very much the blend of flavors this rum offers. The only other rum that compares to this one flavor wise is the Kirk and Sweeney's either the 12 or 18 year old. This is how I rank them:

Well...tried after a Matuzalem 15 it results not so fine, but it's a nice rum for cocktails, it's a little harsh if taken alone. Good q/p ratio

Standard and balanced rum. Not so sweet not so strong. Good enough.

Great rum both for mixing or sipping. Only the strong alcohol smell prevents me of giving a higher grade
