Pampero Aniversario was first crafted in 1963 to commemorate the Pampero company’s 25th anniversary. The rum is a blend of rums ranging in maturity from four to six years and aged in whisky and bourbon barrels.
The Pampero distillery was founded by Alejandro Hernández of Venezuela in 1938. The brand is now a division of the world’s largest liquor holding company, Diageo.

This rum is the top of Pampero's range, it has a very interesting colour (caramel added for sure) and a instant recognizable bottle, with a signature leather envelope.
In Italy it's widely available and in supermarkets it's often about 15€, making it one of the best value for money for an aged rum.
It has a nice smell, but in the mouth i feel too much alcohol and the taste is quite plain.
I recommend it on the rocks, in a quality highball or a cocktail such a rum sidecar.
As a neat sipper i believe you need to upgrade to something better.

En god rom med en härlig mörk rödbrun nyans med en tilltalande arom.
Lite vass i början med när den har fått rulla på tungan så kommer smakerna fram.

I think this one is very enjoyable considering the price. Good to have on the shelf for less special occasions.

Pampero Aniversario is one of the rums I "cut my teeth" on when I first began exploring sipping rums.
I very much enjoy the leather, spiciness, oak, vanilla, molasses flavors and smooth finish.
Highly recommend to all!
