Pampero Aniversario was first crafted in 1963 to commemorate the Pampero company’s 25th anniversary. The rum is a blend of rums ranging in maturity from four to six years and aged in whisky and bourbon barrels.
The Pampero distillery was founded by Alejandro Hernández of Venezuela in 1938. The brand is now a division of the world’s largest liquor holding company, Diageo.

Love the color and nose. Let glass breath for a few minutes. Robust flavors but not overpowered by an obvious tone. Very well blended. Nice finish with little burn. Oakiness lingers between sips. Don't insult this rum by mixing.
Comparatible dry, clearing Taste, close to aged rums.
Lovely bottle and great dark looking rum. Perfect for sipping even before dinner. Not to dominant vanilla sweet taste. My only remark would be the aftertaste which is a bit sugary.
7/10 Recommendable to most. Cheap price and good taste, great value for money.
Unable to purchase here in Canada, will pick up the odd bottle crossing the border. Has a bit of heat so sip mostly fall n winter.
Získal Gold Medal 2007 - San Francisco World Spirits.
I love the smokey taste of this rum. But the alcohol is a little too striking.. Bottle is good-looking and reminds me of pirates haha.
Quite light and buttery.
"It’s a pleasant nose which suggests good ageing and there is a light oak to the nose which is well balanced."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Nice presentation ...very dark mahogany hue. In the glass - rum is dark and rich. Initial scents of brown sugar (baking) spices. Heavy dark brown sugar, with caramel, cinnamon, nutmeg and spicy oak tannin present. Hints of tobacco and leather.
In the glass, a nice buttery feel on the tongue. Where the brown sugar and baking spices dominated the nose, the flavour in the mouth is somewhat drier. The sweeter scents of brown sugar and caramel have turned to a soft toffee- spicy but bittersweet. I normally like my rum to be more sweet but the flavour of Pampero hovers around bitterness without actually falling into the well.
Great overall balance of the flavors. Everything is working together. The spices, the dryness, the flavours of tea and oak and toffee; even a touch of vanilla bean. I think it’s similar to another Venezuelan rum- Diplomatico Reserva exclusiva but not quite as sweet as the diplomatico.
