The Pampero distillery was founded by Alejandro Hernández of Venezuela in 1938. The brand is now a division of the world’s largest liquor holding company, Diageo.

Great ratio price/quality and rlly good taste of this drink. 7/10
good rum, not too sweet. big boys rum u know w i m saying
This is a nice affordable rum for your bourbon friends. I kinda forgot I poured it for a bit and kept saying "what's that smell" (in a good way). Finally realized it was a heavy whiskey nose coming out of the glass. It's a bit sweet but not unpleasant. Has a lovely molasses and honey note at the start. A surprisingly long finish for a 80 proof. As it finishes I pick up bitter orange peel or maybe key lime peel. Nice. Very surprised how good this is for the price. I'll have to grab a bottle.
I’m pretty sure it has added color and sugar, but I keep buying it!
I just like the taste and in the end perhaps that is all that matters
I got it as a present and I have to say it is a good I looked at it a bit a weird in its unique "sack". The bottle is nothing special as well, little, roundy.
But when you taste it you see this is some special stuff. The taste is not too strong, not too alcoholic and not sweet, BUT... harmonic. The strong vanilla, the small oaky aftertaste just so perfectly harmonized you must accept the people who made this have thought it through.
So, give it a try, wont regret it, this is really a good stuff.
As stated in the title, Pampero Aniversario is the rum that started me on my appreciation of good sipping rums some 30+ years ago. Up until that point, the taste of the spirits I had tried never lived up to the wonderful, rich smell that a lot of rums dangled in front of you but didn't deliver on when hitting the palate. All that changed with my first bottle of this one: vanilla, wood, and leather with a very slight undercurrent of buttery varnish. It was like a veil had been lifted off of my taste buds. Are there better rums to be had? Absolutely. Are there also worse ones? Most definitely. And I've had many of both camps. Probably should be a "7" on the ratings scale but, emotionally speaking, this one has a special place in my heart. You could do a lot worse for an introduction to sipping rums.
Quite light and buttery.
"It’s a pleasant nose which suggests good ageing and there is a light oak to the nose which is well balanced."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
