Pampero Aniversario was first crafted in 1963 to commemorate the Pampero company’s 25th anniversary. The rum is a blend of rums ranging in maturity from four to six years and aged in whisky and bourbon barrels.
The Pampero distillery was founded by Alejandro Hernández of Venezuela in 1938. The brand is now a division of the world’s largest liquor holding company, Diageo.

Most prominently in the taste is a leathery and bitter tobacco flavor with a touch of vanilla. This is masterfully balanced out with brown sugar. Although this rum is very refined, I prefer to mix high-end drinks with it, which I personally think makes better use of the bitter taste. So far my favorite drink with this is a classic Mojito.
If you drink it straight up, I find that its character is much improved when you let it rest in the glass for at least 5 minutes.
Ako nadpis napoveda.
Podobny barcelu imperial, ale viac sudove a tazsie. Viac sladke a nejak korenene. Dal by som ich vedla seba, ale kedze je drahsi tak dam menej bodov.
Urcite neurazi ako default sipper.
Asi som zaujaty ale ak si mam vybrat viac mi sedi barcelo
I initially considered my first rum good, then I realized that it's not that great, drinkable in small quantities or in cocktails
The finish on this is so astringent that it doesn't allow me to taste what seems like a promising flavor profile upon sipping it. Shame because it's a beautiful bottle and a lot of folks seem to like it. Sadly, it has not been enjoyable as a sipper for me.
Neat, with ice or mixed with Coca Cola
It’s a great tasting rum
Young spirituous rum and sugar which doesn't make it smoother.Slight spices. Don't mind of sweet rums, but this one just bad. I keep the rest of the bottle for cocktails and cough mixtures. Don't be messed up with the nice bottle design, it's not worth the money.
The nose is a little interesting with smoke and chocolate but the palate is a letdown. Some baking spices that develop on further sips, perhaps a hint of the chocolate from the nose but not much else.
Hadn't heard of this Venezuelan rum, so I gave it a go. Great presentation. Comes tied up in a leather pouch. Nice mid-amber colour. Burnt sugar and caramelized citrus on the nose. Sweet dates and marzipan on the tongue. Little bit of alcohol when you swish it around. Burnt sugar and ripe fruit going down. Nice mix of flavours but not a huge depth of them. They're all mild. Not much burn going down. Decent price. Mixes well with ginger beer. Will buy again. Probably a 7.5 but it gets an 8 for value.
Quite light and buttery.
"It’s a pleasant nose which suggests good ageing and there is a light oak to the nose which is well balanced."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

More bite than expected, but decent stuff. You're first greeted by a sharp alcohol smell, then a sweet aroma, and a large amount of oak. In the end, a great package for an OK rum.
Revisit- Still harsh, more smoke, 6
edited to add sugar test results- 12g
