Myer’s Original Dark Rum is a blend of up to nine different rums of various ages, all of which are distilled using Jamaica's typical production method: pot-stills. The Original Dark Rum is slightly unique in Jamaica however, because some of the molasses used earlier in the process is added back in after distillation.
Myers rum has been produced since 1879 and named after its founder, Fred Myers.

This is like cough syrup. It should only be used in home remedies or hot toddies.
Not drinkable at all. Not even in a Dark & Stormy. Might mess up a good ginger beer.
Good with coke and works well in cocktails not great straight.
Great for mixing with coke or something else thats good with dark rum. Also pretty good in cocktails. Not smooth enough to drink straight.
This is a great mixer rum, especially with Coca cola. I go to this as a Sunday evening relaxer.
Ever since I tried this rum, haven't wanted to try another brand. With a strong pungent sweet taste it goes well in coca cola.
Another juggernaut rum producer comparable to that of Bacardi. Quantity over quality for the most part. This rum is a standard staple for the college party crowd and also to those who do not know better as to the plethora of other available rums that far outweigh the taste, price and flavor of Myers dark.
Molasses based rum with oak hints with little complexity. This is a mixer and that is all it is!
Among all the work-a-day rums at the grocery store, I have selected this as the one I keep around for simple weeknight relaxation. Its sweet and tastes of molasses, its not anything special, but instead for me is the basic rum from which I compare others.
I don't know what to say about this. It's a truly strange experience. It just tastes really weird. It doesn't taste like it was made how rum is normally made. It feels like there's an extra step, like maybe they slipped in some cola flavouring or something. It's definitely something to do with trying to make it dark. In trying to make this a dark rum they've fiddled with it and it just doesn't taste great. You've got to mix it and it does well in a zombie.
The rum is 50% inviting and 50% telling you to watch out!.
"Initially it is all caramel and burnt toffee almost like black treacle. As the aroma develops that rich Jamaican aroma also makes an entrance amongst the dense treacle."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
