Myer’s Original Dark Rum is a blend of up to nine different rums of various ages, all of which are distilled using Jamaica's typical production method: pot-stills. The Original Dark Rum is slightly unique in Jamaica however, because some of the molasses used earlier in the process is added back in after distillation.
Myers rum has been produced since 1879 and named after its founder, Fred Myers.

Heavy molasses and burnt caramel in smell and taste, which are accompanied by a pleasant Jamaican funk (but not over the top style as Hampden), the smell and taste is bold, rich, deep, turning towards bitter and with a bitter and warming aftertaste od blackstrap molasses which works very nicely in mixed drinks. Myers Dark is very distinctive, maybe not to everyone's liking as it is not the usual dark rum with lots of added sugar, artificial vanilla aroma and other additives, but I will definitely buy this rum again. This one a solid dark mixer which cuts through coke or ginger beer very nicely and it is also a good value for money.
I bought it for mixing and it does the job. A bit heavy on the molasses and sweetness so I don't sip it. But in cocktails it's wonderfully spicy.
I tried this several times in Jamaica. Flavor was OK but no real complexity and a bit too much burn on the short finish. I would reserve this for mixing.
I like my Rums neat, this is definitely a mixer. It has some "nice" weird flavours going on when neat, but it really does seem to work great as a mixer.
Dark, full of flavor, you could sip it. It makes killer Rum&Coke and Rum&GingerBeer. It's better than Gosling Black Seal.
It's a decent mixer at a good price point, not my go to but it works.
Endnu en rom til cocktails. Mangler helt klart noget lagring for at kunne nydes rent😊
One step up from stuff like Bacardi black or goslings. The pot still funk keeps it interesting.
The rum is 50% inviting and 50% telling you to watch out!.
"Initially it is all caramel and burnt toffee almost like black treacle. As the aroma develops that rich Jamaican aroma also makes an entrance amongst the dense treacle."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Very sharp rum with a strong alcoholic taste on the nose and a nasty aftertaste. There are better dark rums. Not a good one to enjoy as neat drink.
