Hampden from 1992 59.8% HLCF
This is my first 92.
Nose: Very intensive high ester smell escapes from the glass, it's very sweet and bright. Ripe pineapple, glue, bourbon barrel in the background which reminds of a PM with herbal aromas. Wood chips and some peppery flavors are also present.
Sweet / salty and fruity overall. Not too much wood influence, very aromatic. Seems to be more of an H than an HLCF.
Taste: Starts with light sweetness, glue, bourbon aromas and vanilla, wood chips, grassy PM aromas. First a little bit thin, then oily. Pineapple and glue come up. The rum increases in sharpness, sweetness decreases, malt and maritime (salty) notes impose themselves, more glue. Some bitter substances are slightly noticeable. Wood chips with grassy aromas are still in the background.
The finish is again sweet / salty, with pineapple, glue and malt.
Aftertaste: pineapple, malt, wood chips
A good Hampden, better in the nose than on the palet. Also complex, balanced between sweetness and salt. Quite complex, but not the best.

Really a soft and round nose. Same character for the mouth. It's easy to taste the fact that it has 24 years in the barrel. Recognizing the classic Hampden nose and taste right away. But this one stands out because of the aging. Nice and dry without taking all mouth watering away. The final is continuously giving character. One of my best runs so far.
Første cask strength for mig. Faktisk ikke så slemt. Et glas jeg vil adde til samlingen. Skulle være fin overgang til cask strength.
Superb golden color, this rum of Jamaica is a pure wonder. Bottled to its natural degree of 59.8 °, it gives off to the nose all the typical aromas of the Jamaica. The varnish is present with very ripe fruits like pineapple with also a smoky side and spices like vanilla. In the mouth, alcohol is present but remains subtle, in harmony with this rum. Mature fruit and vanilla are still present. The finish is extra long and the smoked takes the lead after a long time. The price is heavy (+- 300€) but when you like... ;-)
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Powerful flavor palette, lots of different flavors. Despite the 59,8 %ABV, it's so well rounded. Taste notes of mango, banana and hints of wood
