Kraken Black Spiced Rum was first introduced by Proximo Spirits in 2010 . The dark rum is infused with 11 “secret” spices, caramel and other natural flavors.
The rum gets its name after the mythical sea creature 'The Kraken'. As legend has it, this terrifying creature attacked ships at sea during the 18th and 19th centuries - possibly for all the rum on board.

I didn't enjoy it but i generally do not like spiced rums, in this price range there are some better choices for beginners

Smells like cheap strong alcohol... but if you are into sweets you will have that rum and raisins sensation dancing on your tongue!
Oops, did I say 9/1/21 was epic because I tasted four rums at Laka Lono? I just turned the page in my book and realized #5 was the Kraken.
My notes begin with a smiley face, unclear if that depicts the general mood of the afternoon, my feelings about the Kraken in general, or this rum.
At 94 proof, one wants to take this rum seriously. I find it not as sweet as some spiced rums, and do recommend a refreshing Coca Cola nearby/alongside.
This is an affordable go-to rum. I mix it with Dr Pepper & thoroughly enjoy it!

Coffee brown, taste reminiscent of molasses, exotic spices, caramel, chocolate with some vanilla, a hint of cinnamon at the end
If you like spiced rums, this is your best bet. It is very sweet (a ton of added sugar) but great for sipping over ice. Would recommend.
Great mixed with cola. Strongly spiced so if you don't enjoy normal spiced runs I would advise against this, but if spiced runs are your thing I would definitely give this a shot.

Great color and the sweet vanilla aroma is fantastic, the clove is a lil heavy but over all nit to shabby .
