Kraken Black Spiced Rum was first introduced by Proximo Spirits in 2010 . The dark rum is infused with 11 “secret” spices, caramel and other natural flavors.
The rum gets its name after the mythical sea creature 'The Kraken'. As legend has it, this terrifying creature attacked ships at sea during the 18th and 19th centuries - possibly for all the rum on board.

A better spiced rum. Ok for mixing. Fine for clubbing.
I tried mixing this as first like I do with all my spirits and it was OK. But it's best on it's own, it's so full of flavour, and sweet, it's best enjoyed alone.
So its a gimik only i think with watered down rum
You buy this for the bottle only i think
The Ktaken was a breast. SMOOTH and SPICY at first, fire and desire shortly after. A drink to be reckon.
Kraken is the standard by which others will be judged.
This rum to me was pretty strong when compared to other dark rums. The vanilla flavor was a bit too overbearing but still pleasant. You can also most definitively taste the cloves and dare I say a bit of ginger. It was too strong for me to just sip, it was very good though when mixed with cola. Overall it was enjoyable to drink.
That's not rum, it a sweet liquer very similar to cointreau.
Served with coke this is a tasty drink. Id recommend a squeeze of lime to take the sweet edge off, but overall a good tipple.
It has almost a syrupy taste which makes it very easy to drink, but with it being 47% it will get you blackout drunk in no time.
A caramel/treacley heavy molasses like smell. .
"There is nothing subtle about the spicing and the caramel flavour makes the rum, to my taste overly sweet."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

A very dark black rum. Nice colour. Spicy. I like it, but not too often.
