Havana Club 7-Year Rum is distilled from fermented molasses and aged in charred white oak barrels for seven years.
Havana Club rum is still made in Cuba - where the company was founded by José Arechabala in 1878 and then nationalized in 1959 after the Cuban Revolution. Havana Club is now jointly owned by Pernod Ricard and the Cuban government.

Nothing about it makes it worth getting, no nuance or subtlety, straight up brown sugar and burnt caramel with a strong alcohol taste. Kind of drinkable in a cocktail, 7 years of maturation are make it no better at all.
It appears that the formula has changed recently with Havana Clubs 7 year old expression. It used to be a favorite;slightly sweet, very smooth woody flavor. That was a few years ago in the tall thin bottle. Now,it has more of a whiskey taste to it with some alcohol burn.In a side by side comparison, these are 2 different rums sold under the same label.Good thing I stocked up on the older formulation...
Much better than Captain Morgan and its derivatives but you can find much better rums that are just slightly pricy. In taste some hints of vanilla, cedar and tobacco. Better is mixed with cola.
This is a very high bodied and coarse rum. Almost primative yet refined. It is a great drinker on the rocks. Very nice anejo, smooth and edgy, wild and unreserved. Highly recommend.
I always bring back a couple of bottles from Mexico when I go, but honestly, it is a little better with a splash of coke than as a sipping rum.
A unique bouquet full of coconut, vanilla, cedar, trace tobacco and ripe tropical fruits notes. mmm...love it!
not bad but there are better, I think you pay a lot for the name.
Very good room for flavor but it could be a lot better and could be deeper.
Havana Club Añejo 7 Años has a dazzling and clear mahogany colour...

Their is a creamy/buttery vanilla like smell oak, dry tobacco and smokiness.
"It’s very hot, spicy and very bitter. Luckily the burn isn’t bad and very short. Subsequent sips are much smoother."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Hi, I found this rum to be very bland and won't be buying again.
