This rum is too strong for me, though it tastes good, if I needed an overproof rum I would happily choose this.
I thought I have had some great rums until now. This blew me away. It frankly is far & away the best I've ever had. Now I know what great rum should taste like. Love the bit of Jamaican funk in this blend. I'm spoiled now and can't go back to my former favorites.
Aroma - fruity plums followed by molasses and fresh lime peels
Taste - rich molasses followed by beautiful brown sugar, fresh baked bread, and finished with barrel spices.
This is a punchy rum! If you are not used to overproof rums, this one is not a great place to start. However, if you are accustomed to overproof rums, this one is absolutely delicious. This rum sips well if you know the proper technique but it really shines in classic Tiki cocktails. It comes with a powerful taste with the abv to back it up too. For being priced anywhere from $16 to $26 for 1 liter, it is a great buy! This one definitely gets the recommendation from me.
The price-performance ratio is a selling point. It's pretty much an allrounder: You can drink the Rum pure, on ice, in a cocktail. You'll find benefit in whatever you are trying to achieve.
A strong complex flavour, pushy but not obtrusive.
In the glass, the rum is a darker shade of copper-brown, no doubt courtesy to caramel E150a.
On the nose, there we are welcome with burnt sugar and some fruity scent together with hefty dose of sinus-clearing alcohol, with slightly acrid overtones. That's alright - it's a manly, sledgehammerish style of a rum, no fancy sipper for manicured ladies!
The taste is sweet, caramel, candies, marmalade, dried fruits, delivered by tongue-numbing oomph of alcohol - there are not defects, no foul aftertastes, it's all very clean, and the after taste is lingering, warming, with very little bitterness.
Overall, it's a very pleasant overproof rum, distinct enough to smash through sugary mixes, and a staple of my alcohol supply. Not a super complex experience, but it lacks the sulphury tail of Pussers, and is more interesting than the somewhat one-dimensional sweet smokiness of Woods. Highly recommended!
Good rum for cocktails or only with cola but not too much. Also possile to sip pure (small sips).
Powerfull, but drinkable neat. miss some age for me but very affordable. A good mixer i think.
It’s very intense, almost sickly sweet.
"It’s a sweet yet almost bitter, molasses heavy nose."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Surprisingly smooth mouth and throat presence for an overproof, but still has more kick than your daily go-to! Strong flavors of butter, raisin, and slight bitter tobacco that lingers for a bit. I find plantaion rums to run a bit sweet for my taste, but this one ended up in a good spot for me. I love this neat, but if you mix it, don't expect this one to hide.
