I bought a bottle for $5 in Honduras and even at prices back in the U.S this is still a really good choice for mixing. For those who like drier rums, this could be a decent sipper at a pinch, but not one for those who like sweeter rums.
This is a great every day rum. It is good by itself or as a mixer. Very reasonably priced for the quality.
starts out pretty good. not so sweet as many others. but something bitter in the after taste which I dislike. i had the 5yo and was given the 7yo but cannot really keep them apart from each other. price is key here both 5 and 7yo are very cheap.
Very nice mixer rum £23 online at Amazon next day comparable to havana club 7. Not a sipper by a long shot but makes a wonderful rim and coke or dark and stormy
This rum is nice and will work, but if you can get the older rums from Flor de Cana
Sweet and smooth for an entry sipping rum but not too sweet to have with a splash of cola. The best at this price point.
N- Muddy and earthiness that carries the drifting scents of sea soaked mushy wood log, distant bonfire with mineral and brine, dehydrated pineapple and apple. Unique identity does come thru at bsic abv. (20/25)
P- Liquorice and cola mix. Exotic sour mango with dried apricot, apple and sweet wood smokes, burnt cinnamon, caramel emerged with more cola. (20/25)
F- Medium-long, semi dry with charred wood and fruits in balanced. Tinge of spiciness for a warming finish. (20/25)
Balanced:- Reasonably complex and surely can be better and broader if at higher abv. Just manage to float on a thin line at 40%. (19/25)
Weighted Rate:- 79pt

Guter Rum zum Mixen. Sehr trocken. Auf gar keinen Fall zum Pur trinken.
Prima rum om te drinken met ijs, goede prijs kwaliteit.
It smells reasonably “boozy”. You still get notes of good oak ageing.
"The finish is overall quite bitter almost like dark chocolate."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

It’s ok. Got a nice agricole freshness to it, and the flowers are pretty well balanced, but on the whole there’s not much going on.
