Malecon 1987 Seleccion Esplendida 28-Year

Beautiful amber color with gray green reflections. On the nose are pastry notes, dried fruits. We must let time do its work and let this rum aerate. There are also vegetable and floral notes. It is very complex. On the palate, we are on the same aromas with a not very long finish. Very nice rum, need time to discovery all aromas. Not easy when you taste during a rum festival ;-)

I just tried this along side the 1979 and 1985. It is very good but not close to the other 2. Therefore I am downgrading my first review from a 9 to the deserved 8. Very, very fine rum. Expensive and worth it. Balanced with zero bite. Big oak, tobacco and currant notes in the background. Smooth as silk. A top shelf sipper. Wood fills the senses and coats the pallet. Slightly better neat. Robust and not at all sweet.

What should I say. I love the PANAMA Way of RUM. Great!
