Duft af frugt. Ananas? En smule vanilje og fad. Sød. Smagen er meget røget med et hint af frugt og peber. Sød eftersmag af frugt. Ligger mellem 5 og 6. Egentlig 5,5, men det rundes op til 6. (22. december 2020 i 1423).
This quite young Agricole, which I bought when I drove down to Spain some days ago, is aged for three years in new oak barrels with a short finish in former bourbon barrels.
In nose the oakiness dominates.
In mouth, at palate and during the quite long finish I, besides the oak, also recognize fruits, smoke and hints of bourbon.
Overall it’s as all J.M’s in the standard line up a good buy and a good entrance to the world of Agricole’s.
Picture: My opened bottle and a poured glass down in Nerja, Spain.
Sweet and smooth but not Deep enough. Some spices and fruit
Rhum J.M V.O
Score: 5
Duft: duft af banan i starten men forsvandt hurtigt, sødme frugt røg/fad. Smag: røg, peber, ananas & banan.
I had this little local rum tasting and while this is a more whiskey barrel forward rum, I did think it had a more velvety smoother texture to it with less burn and I honestly think it was better than like Niessan's reserve. I think this is a great bang for the buck bottle
Excellent rhum on sip. ............................
Tasted at Laka Lono 12/16/21
This is a strong rum. It is not sweet. Yet I like it.
(a succinct set of heritage notes)
Edit, August 16 2023
Appearance: amber
Aroma: bread on fire
Flavor: this is strong, and not sweet until towards the end. It starts w pine, the aging is a really different mood here and I appreciate it. The finish is very typical Agricole but the road there is heavily influenced by the aging process.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I really like this. Different than the typical rum and ron, hard to describe. Maybe smoother and more velvety, taste comes to you over a different curve in a sense. Absolutely worth while. Will try the X.O. later, O have high hopes.
