Seen this in various "best spiced rum" lists out there, so i was expecting something spectacular. Alas, it ain't no Saint Lucia Chairman's Reserve Spiced caliber. Mediocre, okay and nothing memorable. I bought it because it was very cheap and my true targets were a.t.m. unavailable, in local retailers. Its great plus is smell. Great odor, i found it similar to Bayou's (spiced). Alcoholic bite nonexistent, pretty weak stuff. The taste wasn't on par with the very pleasing smell and no lingering aftertaste or arousing burn right after, either. Cannot give it more than 5 and the number's description, fits the bill perfectly (easily consumable in a bind). Nice for dessert though and great substitute for eating sweets, exactly like Pusser's (spiced)!
DEAD MAN'S FINGER SPICED RUM
Zapach: Wanilia, kremรณwka, ลmietanka, suszona skรณrka pomaraลczy, cynamon, daleko czuฤ rum oraz delikatny alkohol.
Smak: Cynamon, ananas, cukierki kukuลka, ลwiฤ teczna babka, soczysta pomaraลcza w tle beczka ale caลy smak podbity duลผฤ sลodyczฤ .
Podobno to blend Trinidad-Barbados. No niestety tutaj na duลผy minus to stosunek jakoลฤ -cena (ja osobiลcie oczekuje smaku od beczek, dobrej bazy i ciekawego pochodzenia (Ahoj Barbados, Dominikana, Cuba ;) )
Ocena: 59/100
Youโd expect to a taste more consistent. However the rum initially refreshes the taste buds with a sweet nice aroma but then becomes dull through the aftertaste
Decent spiced rum, very easy to drink and pretty cheap. Better than most other spiced in this price range
There is pronounced clove and spices in smell, the taste is strong cloves, cinnamon, orange peel, ginger and other spices I associate with Christmas. The rum body of Dead Man's fingers is almost non existent in the spice inferno. The overall feeling is as if I am drinking mulled wine. For me it is not a good news as this spice combination I really do not like in cold drinks - so drinking neat is out of question, with coke it is also not for me. In tea it is ok. If you like cloves and heavily spiced rums (I dont), you can easily add 4 stars.
The nose is ....different and not appealing. I am thinking 4 rating. The first sip is pungent with an odd mix of cinnamon, orange and molasses. I am thinking 5. The next sip starts to interest me. I have another. Nutmeg comes crashing through. Suddenly I realize this has some complexity and depth. Some nice bite too. I am thinking 6. The nutmeg really lingers. Nice finish. What was once a 4 has really won me over. Different. Good, in fact, very good.
In the rum group that Iโm a member of on Facebook, DMF not only as a rum, but as a brand, polarises opinions, with some members saying they are to commercial and that to many chemicals are used, making their rums taste artificial. While others would argue that every single flavour is simply divine. As for me. Well I loved the coconut rum and this spiced flavoured one is more than ok. It smells quite vanillary at first, giving you the anticipation of this rum tasting more sugary than peppery. But oh no. What the good folk at DMF have somehow managed to achieve, is to create a rum that simultaneously caresses your tastebuds with sweetness and jolts them with a heated after kick. Now most people would probably say that having a rum that is both sweet and spicy in the same glass should not and does not work. But I politely disagree. Neat for me, Iโm not so keen, as itโs a little to fiery for my sweet tooth to handle. But add Coca-Cola and this rum becomes a pleasant long drink, with a heated kick that will keep the cold at bay.
The cinnamon spicing of this rum strongly comes through and makes for a unique flavour.
Itโs not all vanilla but the other notes are equally safe and equally popular. Cinnamon, citrus peel and some very sweet caramel.
"In actual fact the orange peel/marmalade notes really shine through. Itโs reasonably complex โ some nice more natural tasting notes of cinnamon, brown sugar and a little saffron spice."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

The color and finish of this is amazing for a budget rum. Keep a bottle of this on my cart most of the time.
