El Dorado 8-Year

Tento rum jsem měl tu čest ochutnat teprve nedávno a velmi mile mne překvapil. Je sice sladší a je to v něm cítit. Zřejmě po karamelu, který je malinko cítit i ve vůni a chuti, ale i tak je tento rum velice dobrý a ukázal mi, že i levnější rumy mají čím zaujmout a jsou výborné.

Po právom vychvaľovanom 12-ročnom bráškovi siaham po mierne lacnejšej 8-ročnej alternatíve. Fľaška je už o čosi fádnejšia, s klasickou plechovou zátkou. Vôňa je nenápadná, no zaujímavá, trochu cítiť lieh. Chuť je skôr suchšia a ostrejšia, okrem dreva cítiť spálený cukor, oriešky, až neskôr nasládle tóny. Vo svojej komplexnosti je tu jasné príbuzenstvo s drahším súrodencom, aj keď v trochu užšej a drsnejšej podobe. Na to, že cenovka je len mierne nižšia, je žiaľ kvalitatívny posun smerom nadol dosť veľký. Stále sa ale jedná o chutný drink na bežný deň, určite vhodný aj ako sipper. Subjektívne rating s odretými ušami 6, za rovnakú cenu oveľa radšej zvolím jemnejší a uhladenejší Barcelo Imperial.

In contrast to the 12 year, the barrel taste come through much stronger. A good sipper, but I prefer the 12 year.

Great for mixing and. It a bad sipper with ice in a pinch.

It's pretty good in cocktails, but for sipping I would go for at least the 12 year.

Reach for this whenever a recipe calls for an aged Demerara. The lack of added sugar is a big plus here, and makes it easier to work with at the bar. Now that the new 12yr is available I'm not sure which one I'll buy though.

Caramel and molasses flavour. Very strong molasses, with a hint of vegetative. Smooth but the sweetness might get to you after awhile. Good value for the price.

ElDorado8 ami nekem 7. Meet meglepően kellemes ital tisztán is. Nehéz ügy,vagy talán könnyű,mert koktélba,lomg drinkbe túl kellemes,de tisztán azért már lehet mást innék. De mindenképpen ha az ár érték arány fontos akkor ajánlom!

Reasonable rum. A bit too much enthanol like at first, but this is won over by a nicer sweeter taste. Should age well i guess.
