Appleton Estate 12-Year Rum is a blend of several rums aged between 12 and 18 years in American oak barrels after being distilled using small-batch copper pot stills.
The rum is produced on the Appleton Estate, which sits in the Nassau Valley in Jamaica. The estate’s origins date back as far as 1655 when the English overthrew the Spanish to rule the island and Frances Dickinson, grandfather of the distillery’s founders, received the land as a reward for his role in the overthrow.

I will say it again, I am a relative Rum newbee. I have never had really good expensive Rum. However, I was expecting more from Appleton 12 year.
smooth easy to drink but has some under tones of taste that i could not put my finger on. The label claims notes of Hazelnuts, maybe that is what I was not crazy about - I hate Hazelnuts.
Glad I tried it, but probably will not continue to buy it.
To much alcohol smell from the bottle for a 12YO rum. My opinion.
Can't enjoy more than 75ml of this rum. Amazing nose palate but earthy notes makes it average rum to me. Drinking it neat.
Delicious, especially on the rocks, but also mixes well. Flavors are present, but not overwhelming, sweetness is just right!
This is a good rum but lacks the refined touch that the 21 holds !
Nice and smooth, good taste and smell. 7/10 average drink
A solid and easily accessible rum. Lots of flavor and funk but also very smooth.
A bit more flavor than the VX but still to be mixed, for me, so assess if it’s worth the money before you buy.
not ideal for sipping but makes a good mixer with most rum based cocktails

The rum offers a lot of smoky spiced oak flavour.
"A nice note of cocoa and a little hint of vanilla. The rum is smooth yet spicy offering a nice kick. The finish is long and complex leaving a lot of flavour behind to savour."

Aroma tropical fruits, banana, mango. Smooth and with a long aftertaste.
