El Dorado 21-Year rum

El Dorado 21-Year

Guyana | Aged

El Dorado 21 is produced near the equator in Guyana by Demerara distillery. The final product is a blend of rums, aged between 21 and 25 years and crafted using 100% locally sourced Demerara sugar. Traditional tools are used in the distilling processes including three unique wooden stills. The rums rest until maturity in 45 gallon oak casks.

Väldigt rund och smakrik. Förmodligen en del tillsatt socker men klart köpvärd.

Very nice rum. Needs to rest 20-30 min. But i prefer 15 year

Purchased my 2nd bottle in Florida at $99, even though I hadn't finished the current bottle in my inventory. Butterscotch nose, accented with brown sugar. Rums with a price point of +$75, I always drink "neat." The 21 was no disappointment. Smooth on the palate, caramel notes along with caramel. Excellent product at $99.

This is a heavy, sweet, lovely balanced, yet often challenging rum.

It is however, quite expensive, and thus, the 15 yo is the better value for money in my opinion.

The nose is quite dry and the alcohol is maybe a little bit too much present. The palate is quite spicy, with notes of coffee, grilled bread and vanilla. The finish is long and elegant.

It's a well-matured ultra-mellow South American molasses rum. I love a Zacapa 23, this is IMO marginally better. Nice bottle, cork stopper.
Glass: Dark amber
Nose: Full aroma of dried fruit and nuts, hint of spice
Mouth: VERY mellow, all the fruit and toffee you need, restrained sweetness with a hint of wood. Excellent balance, that lingers.
Burn: Gentle, subtle - leaves you wanting more.

It is a clear cut above the El Dorado 12 and in fact all the other demeraras I've tried.
