Guyana | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still
El Dorado 12-Year Rum is composed of a blend of aged rums, all at least 12 years old. The rums are distilled using a combination of stills including coffey stills and a double wooden pot still before being aged in bourbon oak casks.
Demerara Distillers of Guyana produces El Dorado 12-year rum and is the country's last remaining distillery, with origins tracing back to 1670. The name ""El Dorado"" references the legendary city of gold that is said to be in the country's Rupununi region.

N - Rummy and good. That's about it, which sometimes is all you need!
P - Green wood, bubblegum and lots of baking spice! Just a hint of funk.
F - More baking spice.
Nothing special, but darn good at it's job!
Very nice rum for a nice price. Sweet, bit of fruit and vanilla. Very nice sipper. I like it anlot.
El Dorado is a excellent rum for the price. Highly recommended.
Great rum. This rum is now my go to rum. Great to drink nice and slow.
Slightly sweet with hints of Banana and caramel. Soft after taste
The El Dorado is a good rum, not my favorite but its at a reasonable price. the scent was not at the level I was expected. I'll go back to the diplomatico reserve instead.
It comes out the bottle very thick and syrupy. But with a little ice, it's a very smooth, sweeter sippible rum. The Demerara sugar flavor comes through with lots of caramel. This bottle stays heavily in my nightly rotation.
Le Rhum parfait pour celui qui veut évoluer des rhums commerciaux à des produits plus authentiques !
12 ans de vieillissement sous les tropiques apportent à ce Rhum une belle gourmandise, difficile de se limiter à un seul verre !
If you like sweet rums - El Dorado 12yo is for you. Perfect sipping rum, also on ice.
Lush tropical fruit and spice nose with hints of honey and dark sugar...

This rum got me hooked. It was the first aged rum I had and as a bit of a sweet tooth it floored me. I have to thank it for getting me into the world of rum. Now I can taste how sweet it is but it is still delicious and unique in its style. The Demerara Sugar they use gives this an incomparable caramel flavour, it's like the salted caramel of the rum world. I wonder when they started adding sugar and I wish I could have tasted it before then. Golden brown, texture like sun. This rum is syrupy and heavily caramalised but not sickly sweet like many other Spanish style rums. I gave it an 8 mostly out of nostalgia. It's clearly designed to take on Diplomatico and Ron Zacapa.
