Guyana | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still
El Dorado 12-Year Rum is composed of a blend of aged rums, all at least 12 years old. The rums are distilled using a combination of stills including coffey stills and a double wooden pot still before being aged in bourbon oak casks.
Demerara Distillers of Guyana produces El Dorado 12-year rum and is the country's last remaining distillery, with origins tracing back to 1670. The name ""El Dorado"" references the legendary city of gold that is said to be in the country's Rupununi region.

Too sweet for me, but decent enough with hints of toffee, oranges, coffee and some actual Demerara character.
Fruity, chocolate, oak notes. Sweet rum, but not too much or does not feel like that. Caramel, vanilla, some cherry and other flavors. Very pleasant warming feeling after a few sips.
What seemed strange to me is that it was better neat than on the rocks. Anyway, great sipping rum.
Like Good Will Hunting, Terminator 2 or Independence Day, you could have this again and again without complaint.
The 12-year-old El Dorado belongs on every shelf. There are few better rums in this price segment. I only wish it had 43%, like the ED 15, instead of the 40% it has. The new version (after 2019) is also no longer as sweet as it was before.
Soft taste and not a lot of sweetness. A little boring, but very cheap.
It was a good rum to drink, however O have definately tasted better before.
This was my fist "real" rum. And it is well invested. When I think of pirates this is the stuff.
I love this in cocktails but on its own it burns too much in the throat and tastes a bit too ethanoly.
Ez már szép. Bár az El Dorado mint márka is nagyon tetszik, azért mellé még nem nyultak
