This site is seriously bugged. i tried to update my review, and it posted my most recent review of another rum instead. the original long review i wrote with tasting notions is now lost and gone.
i am not going to bother to write a new one, the site owner should know better to fix these and other issued when charging money for membership.
as for the product
It is not a Rum., it is bad artificially flavoured and heavily sugared beverage of sickening murky sweet sugar honey water which you can produce in your kitchen without much knowledge, if there is rum in the process, it is for mentioning purposes only, rum as some kind of distilled sugar can or molasses by product. the artificial flavouring kills any Rum flavour there possibly is. it is bad, headache causing not due to lack of alcohol but due to excessive sugar. if the Captain was alive to drink this he would surely be outrageous and would send his pirates to close whomever is using his fame and lore for selling such a foul product. it is not a rum, it is not even close. having a nice picture of Captain Morgan on the label won't turn this into a rum. 18/100
On the nose:
Acetone forward, slight tingle, some sweetness, there is vanilla hiding in there somewhere, perhaps a touch of raisin but I can't really pick up more than that.
On the tongue:
At first vanilla forward, but quite quickly gets harsh with ethanol. Once the tingle in the mouth and nose go away, there is some reminiscing afterflavour of vanilla but also some sweetness, but not sugar more like artificial sweetener.
Subjective:
From a neatness drinking point of view, which I review all my drinks, this is a no, but it pairs well with pepsi max, which makes it my go-to drink. So although I score it low here, I keep buying this as my main mixing rum.
should state first that in general i'm not a fan of spiced rum. However was offered the drink and said thank you. When offered another later, I politely declined.
For the price, I even take it out of the cabinet for a sip sometimes. I know it's meant more for cocktails, but I like the nutty aroma and (to me not overly eager) sweetness. That is a fair rum, and in my opinion, a sipper.
Used to be my go to day to day Rum until I discovered the proper stuff 😜 . Now it's only good for mixing . Fine for Party nights , pub nights .
Can never go wrong with the captain and coke. Always my fall back drink.
Rum ki je dober samo za rum-kolo. Ima okus po cenenem žganju.
Good choice for a mixer. I know people who drink this neat.
The nose on this rum is sharp, sweet and artificial. It smells almost cloyingly sickly sweet.
"It really is just vanilla, vanilla and a touch more vanilla. There is no subtlety, no hints of spices not even a hint of ginger or anything worth while. Its basically Vanilla flavoured rum."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Not bad, but there are better rums around a similar price point. Prefer CM spiced.
