Captain Morgan Original Spiced Gold

This is rum for people who don't like rum, or haven't grown up yet. So either grow up and get some real rum, or just keep drinking this and have my pitty.

I have to say that for the price, Captain Morgan Spiced Gold is a decent rum, all things being relative. Neat, you can taste the vanilla which gives this rum it’s sweetness, but it’s definitely not overly sweet. I’d say it’s quite smooth and although there is some burn in the finish, it’s probably going to be tolerable to most. With Coca-Cola the burn is mellowed out and what you end up with, is a drink that goes from being easy to consume, to ridiculously easy to consume. However, being critical, I have to say that this rum lacks depth in flavour and feels a tad on the bland side, especially compared to a rum like Admiral’s Old J Spiced for example. But like I said earlier, for the price, and the fact that it’s sold in every pub and supermarket up and down the land, Captain Morgan Spiced Gold is a superb entry level rum, and this is the reason why I affectionately refer to it as the perfect ‘gateway rum!’

It has its artificial vanilla flavor. With coke or in a cocktail it's ok. It's not for sipping and enjoying the real spirit of rum.

This started Rum drinking for me so always nice to have.

When I was teenager, in czech this was kind of better rum you mix with coke. Recently I have met this on one party and decided to remember old days. Well, my memories were even better :D anyway, with enough coke it is drinkable ;) but I would even not call it rum.

It’s not really a rum but I’ve tried it therefore I should rate it. Weak mild spirit based drink

Just a good rum to mix with coke. Especially if you have friends coming over that dont care for quality but Just quantity..

I thought it was better than it’s overall rating of 4.5, although I won’t be buying again
