Appleton's V/X Signature Blend is a terrific all-purpose rum. It works brilliantly in a Mai Tai, in a Cuba Libre, even in an Old Fashioned if you're in a pinch. It's not the most complex sipped neat but that's not really what it's for, now is it?
Asi to nejhorší od appletonu, slušný velmi klasický rum, suchý, za mě spíš do coly.
A rum with a light color, although the taste is really nippling the tongue. Not really sweet, did not actually enjoyed it but I can imagine to use it for some cocktails except the twist on old fashioned, tastes still too strong.
A light colour compared to the 8 or 12 year with some burnt caramel smell. The taste is the same with that Appleton Jamacian funk, that is not really my thing. A spicey finish , with some burn. Best in a mixed drink.
Fine aroma, smooth, tastes better mixed with sparkling fruit sodas and orange slice. Not a bad sipper choice for aged rum beginners but 12years is way much better sipper. Still ...fine for rum ending a hard day. Satisfying score 7+
Well balanced and it is a quite subtle (by Jamaican standards) rum.
"The initial sip is quite smooth but the palate soon heats up and feels the black pepper again, this time with some chilli and ginger spice."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

This is a "young" rum that, like most Appleton Estate rums, does not have the typical Jamaican funk or hogo to it. The rum is subtile and thin and without a strong alcohol burn. Not a bad rum but definitely not interesting enough to drink neat. Great for in a Daiquiri or with Ginger Ale.
