Dos Maderas PX 5 + 5 rum is made from a combination of rums from Barbados and Guyana. It is unique becuase of its triple ageding process where for 5 initial years the rum is aged in the Carribean in oak casks. Next PX 5 + 5 is aged in Spain for 5 years in sherry casks, and lastly for 2 more years in even older sherry casks.
The Dos Maderas family of rums are produced by Bodegas Williams & Humbert, which is a well known Spanish winery founded by Sir Alexander Williams in the late 1800s. The region of Spain where the winery is located has a climate perfectly suited for wine and is known as Europe's wine cellar.

This was a great rum that a friend recommended. Not upset about picking it up in the least.
J'adore
well, I'm still saving 10 for something that will blow my mind, however I love this one! the smell is great full of rich tones, the taste is smooth, sweet but not overly sweet (although I like sweet rums), you can really tell it has spent some time in barrels, I find something in it that I would even call a woody taste/smell - in a good way, I highly recommend trying this one
Noted as a Product of Spain, blending the best Caribbean rums and aged on PX barrels.
Color: dark brown
Aroma: complex with various notes ranging from liquorice (licorice) and faint sweetness.
Taste: Soft and suttle at first with a touch of dried citrus. This passes quickly to give you warm tones derived from the PX cask.
Somehow a little reminiscent of childhood medicine.
this rum , I feel oak taste and sweet with the stronger alcohol end. I will buy it again
Lightly sweet smooth with nice aroma... Nice spicy end.
Fruity cherry notes and lightly charred notes. You will not miss the aroma of PX cask, which can be found in most whisky.
Fruity cherry, raisins and aroma of cedar wood on the very first sip. Follow with salty sour plum and acidity of orange peel.
Silky long finishing, flavour of tabacco lingering and end with herbaceous aroma which similar with Jagermeister.
Rich, plump raisins dominate the palate.
"Quite drying on the palate so the mid palate. A slight oakiness and a little touch of the oak barrel."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

The taste is complicated, but very very pleasant. The rum is βonlyβ 5 years aged in Caribbean and it makes it slightly biting, the next mature process in Europe gave it mainly the sherry flavors and smoothness in the throat. But the afterburn of the rum is quite intensive, I have to say that is something I like, and was amazed from. You can feel, from every sip, you are drinking not an extra aged or premium rum, but younger product with tremendous care and delicate sherry tones.
