Dos Maderas PX 5 + 5 rum is made from a combination of rums from Barbados and Guyana. It is unique becuase of its triple ageding process where for 5 initial years the rum is aged in the Carribean in oak casks. Next PX 5 + 5 is aged in Spain for 5 years in sherry casks, and lastly for 2 more years in even older sherry casks.
The Dos Maderas family of rums are produced by Bodegas Williams & Humbert, which is a well known Spanish winery founded by Sir Alexander Williams in the late 1800s. The region of Spain where the winery is located has a climate perfectly suited for wine and is known as Europe's wine cellar.

hmmm, na první napití mi moc nechutnal. Po nějaké době jsem názor zlepšil, ale stále to není ono.
This is a pleasant and safe premium Rum. Nice but not great character. Very tolerable. But better offerings in this price point.
I had to change my rating after half bottle. Pleasant quite sweet rum, middle strong. Nice sweet smell. I recommend to buy a bottle. I am looking forward to taste Dos Maderas Luxus.
Bottle: Solid cork and piece of history on the label
Nose: Cherry compote, dried plums, dried raisins.
Taste: Cherry compote again, very smooth, burning and sweetness end in same time. And that's awesome

Triple aged rum, delicious and smooth. Great finish.
A great rum with complex aromas ans nice afterburn.
Easy to drink but easy to forget.
I am just reminding myself how my journey begun.
As for many others, this one as well as Diplomatico RE,Zacapa 23.....
Unfortunately new vintage of Maderas 5+5 is a bit worse than older versions.

Rum byl zakoupen v akci jednoho supermarketu po přečtení několika pozitivních recenzí od lidí co pijí rumy s velkým procentem alkoholu. Tento mne mile překvapil svou jemností ve které je na jazyku cítit dřevo sudu a trochu vanilky. Dřevo ze sudu je také cítit v jeho vůni. Moc rád si jej pořídím znovu i když se poohlížím po verzi Luxus a Selection.
