Dos Maderas PX 5 + 5 rum is made from a combination of rums from Barbados and Guyana. It is unique becuase of its triple ageding process where for 5 initial years the rum is aged in the Carribean in oak casks. Next PX 5 + 5 is aged in Spain for 5 years in sherry casks, and lastly for 2 more years in even older sherry casks.
The Dos Maderas family of rums are produced by Bodegas Williams & Humbert, which is a well known Spanish winery founded by Sir Alexander Williams in the late 1800s. The region of Spain where the winery is located has a climate perfectly suited for wine and is known as Europe's wine cellar.

If you want very interesting tasting for lower price. Maybe a sherry smell, sweetish rum cake taste and no after taste.
But it's a bit too sweet. Still a passable sipper. Lots of raisins and I get hints of tobacco, smoky content. If it didn't have so much sweetness it'd be deserving of a higher rating. As others have said let this breathe before partaking.
Polecam z czystym sumieniem, daje mu 9 choc dalbym 9,5.
This was the first rum I tasted, and the one that got me to love a good rum. The Dos maderas 5+5 got some nice woody smell at first with some vanilla tones. The first sip got some subtile Burn followed with some sweet caramel aftertaste. Not A complex rum but very accessible and pleasant!
One of my favorites, but I understand that its not a rum for orthodox rum drinkers. It is a connection of two drinks. Complex aroma and woody-sherry aftertaste. Could be a little bit less sweet.
Very good drink, aged properly, it has a
Real good boque of parfumes
The more you drink more you appreaciate the taste
One of the nicest, smoothest rums I have tasted. Very nice Carmel upfront with a slight spiciness. There is a nice sherry finish with a substantial bit of heat at the back of the palate as the sip finishes! Very highly rated at a very nice price point.
Pour over one piece of ice & slowly consume. Feel the smooth, delicious flavour of vanilla overtones as you drink.
I drank a bottle in no time at all due to the actual texture & flavour of this luscious liquid.
Rich, plump raisins dominate the palate.
"Quite drying on the palate so the mid palate. A slight oakiness and a little touch of the oak barrel."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I would say no better than its description on the maker's website: "Dark amber in color, this intriguing rum offers fig [and raisin - didn't personnally got the raisin note] notes at first, leading to rich, ripe fruit on the palate. This is seasoned by some tropical spice and wrapped in sherry notes, with wisps of smoky oak and a touch of tobacco leaf." Serious and sweet. But not a typical or classical rum taste. Would make fine cocktails outstanding.
