Diplomatico Reserva rum is distilled from molasses using both copper pot and column stills. The rum is then aged in small oak casks for between 2 and 8 years before blending and bottling.

A good rum, but still has quite a bit of an alcohol bite. That takes away from the underlying flavors.

If you think of Diplomatico, just take the 12yo exclusiva, there is not that big price difference, but the taste difference is more than huge.
Decent rum for the price, good for mixing or drinking neat
One of my favorites, tasted it for the first time a few years ago and have not looked back...
I have a love hate with Diplomatico, this bottle was wonderful, but some of their other stuff is odd.
Bon rhum mais tire un peu trop sur l'alcool. Le reserva exclusive est meilleur.

What can you say, the Diplomatico rums seem to be quite popular here. But then again, so is MacDonalds or Jack Daniels. Popular taste is rarely a good indication of quality. This stuff is sickeningly sweet and poorly made.
