Rum dal colore abbastanza scuro.
L'odore è piuttosto intenso subito e molto piacevole.
This rum is pretty much the standard for how I rate other rums. It was one of my first sipping rums and is still a favorite today. The only issue I have with it is the sweetness. For this reason, Diplomático's Selection de Familia rates higher for me.
Smooth mouth and throat feel with a low warmth on the finish. Maple syrup, carmel, brown sugar, and molasses give way to an oily floral finish. Too sweet for my liking. Leaves an almost sweet coating in your mouth. Nice botanical flavors throughout and during the lasting finish.
Best easy drinking, sipping rum, for men and ladies. Darkhoney, mahagoney colour, green ring visible. Sweet, caramely, cocos, toffee, only a touch of spice.
The Diplomatico reserva exclusiva was the rum that led me to this site and generally in the rum community. In my opinion is a very good sweet sipping rum at an affordable price.Highly recommend to beginners!
Perfect taste... Nothing to take away, nothing to add!
A complex rum with promising flavor. A harsh finish however that is lacking smoothness. Not for sipping, a nice mixer.
Very good for sipping, highly recommend especially for first timers
"The palate evokes chocolate sauce and the sweet toffee, fudge and tropical fruit flavours from the nose"
"The nose is dominated by notes of caramel, toffee and crème. On the back end of the aromas, I can detect a hint of smoke and pineapple"

Smells sweet. It is fruity, oranges, grapes and raisins with scents of chocolate and a sweet almost syrupy.
"The tasting notes on the site are very accurate vanilla, fudge/toffee sauce are noticeable as are notes of vanilla and a finish which is slightly bitter like cocoa which leaves a hit of oakiness on the taste buds. The finish is pretty short. ."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

With all that has happened in Venezuela its remarkable this is still available. seems to be everybody best for the price point. recently found the de Familia in the US and have to rate it even slightly higher. Thick heavy legs.
