Smooth and soft. Not much nose action but a smooth taste with little afterburn. Not too sweet and not much layers in the taste. But for a nice and smooth sipping rum it’s perfect.
I bought this rum to add to my arsenal. It goes down easy and mixes well with pineapple or orange juice.
Rather sweet and syrupy, which I understand is due to added dosage. That said, a serviceable rum if you know what you’re getting into, inexpensive, and fairly common, so it’s a great bottle for “getting into rum” and won’t be off putting for folks who don’t usually like rum. Nice after a meal as a dessert or on the rocks as a “rum and coke”, though no coke is necessary 😉
I "discovered" this one a couple of years ago and am blown away of how great this tastes (as even a sipper!) for the price!
IF you have not tried this, run and get it NOW! The good news too, is it is now available at many, many resort destinations, so you can get it "on the road".
I literally have no other rums I have tasted in this $40 US to $80 US price range better than this! I ALWAYS have it at home, and typically the bottle is drained before anything else, it is THAT GOOD!
I recently brought it to a party loaded with the typical Scotch/whiskey drinkers and told them to try this, and even they loved it!!
Definitely a must try and/or keeper in your rum bar!
great depth in flavor smooth finish good value for money
I like it in a rom and Coke. One of my go to for that drink.
"The palate evokes chocolate sauce and the sweet toffee, fudge and tropical fruit flavours from the nose"
"The nose is dominated by notes of caramel, toffee and crème. On the back end of the aromas, I can detect a hint of smoke and pineapple"

Smells sweet. It is fruity, oranges, grapes and raisins with scents of chocolate and a sweet almost syrupy.
"The tasting notes on the site are very accurate vanilla, fudge/toffee sauce are noticeable as are notes of vanilla and a finish which is slightly bitter like cocoa which leaves a hit of oakiness on the taste buds. The finish is pretty short. ."

This rum wants to sit on the tongue and evaporate, spreading flavor throughout. Some slight burn when swallowed, but not too much.
