I was looking forward to trying this rum with all the great reviews. Unfortunately not my kind of rum. Way to sickly sweet. I gave the bottle away.
Like others have said. It's liqueur, in my opinion. It's tasty in the way other liqueurs can be tasty, and I don't judge anyone who likes it, but I do hope the rum world get's more regulated so that this can be placed in a different category.
This is my go to drink for a relaxing end to a long day. If you sip it slowly it is perfect in almost every way. It is a sweet rum, so keep that in mind, but it is exceedingly smooth. The nose is raisins, vanilla, and maple syrup. Once it hits your mouth deep caramel and vanilla tones linger and swirl on the back of your tongue. There is no burn at all. It is smooth and pleasant at every level and for under 42-48$ a bottle it is superb value. If you find this bottle, grab it and thank us later.
*Update* So as other may point out, this rum does not age well once opened. I now find after 6 months on the shelf that the complex flavors have become muted and it has become sweeter. It is still very, very good but overall the short shelf life means a reduction in points.

Super Preis/Leistung.
A real top rum.
The nose can not get enough: vanilla, toffee, caramel,
to name just some of the sweet temptations.
Smooth and velvety on the palate, full flavor.
Departure quite tasty, but could be longer.
Great price / performance.
This is a flavor-bomb, very complex and almost chewy. However, I wonder that few if any folks here mention the licorice. This stuff tastes like it was aged in Bookers bourbon barrels. I mean, it's rum through and through, and very good, but the usual rummy aromas and flavors are overwhelmed by a stalk-y vegetal presence - and black licorice. Straight up, it's very good. But a splash of water or an ice cube brings out the licorice to a level I couldn't enjoy (of course, I don't like Bookers all that well either). In the first third of the bottle, I was ready to buy 3 or 4 more. By the last third, I was kind of tired of it. So, I'll put it in the back of the cabinet, and 'rediscover' it at some future date.
Excelente sabor.
Notas de vainilla, café, avellanas.
Color obscuro que deja ver el añejamiento real de este ron
Muy recomendable!!!
This is a solid rum. Great after taste just not good enough for me to be wowed. I would drink it again just about anywhere but wouldn't go hunting it.
after trying many different rums, my taste buds needs to be returned to normal, then this is the one, not to sweet not to dry, afforable
Im not a rum/drink snob but initally this tasted like rum and coke to me. After a while it does settle into a really nice sipper but honestly its almost more of a liqueur than a spirit.
"The palate evokes chocolate sauce and the sweet toffee, fudge and tropical fruit flavours from the nose"
"The nose is dominated by notes of caramel, toffee and crème. On the back end of the aromas, I can detect a hint of smoke and pineapple"

Smells sweet. It is fruity, oranges, grapes and raisins with scents of chocolate and a sweet almost syrupy.
"The tasting notes on the site are very accurate vanilla, fudge/toffee sauce are noticeable as are notes of vanilla and a finish which is slightly bitter like cocoa which leaves a hit of oakiness on the taste buds. The finish is pretty short. ."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Was given a bottle of this as a gift. While it was ok in flavor, it is very sweet. Upon research it is known for the sugar addition. Tasted like rum flavored syrup. I think it gets high rating due to the sweetness, but not the quality.
