I've taken to using this one in cocktails that call for "Puerto Rican" or "Virgin Islands" rum, specifically those by Jeff Berry. Definitely good as a cocktail ingredient, not good alone.
But if you need a cheap white rum to throw into a twelve ingredient tiki cocktail, this will do the trick in a pinch.
Light and mild. Good for introducing people to alternatives to Bacardi superior.
Burn and sink me! This be a fine vodka. Aye, this she-devil be no rum! Not in taste or smell. She be fairly smooth for somethin' that be pure alcohol tho. Three points. If you be marooned with only this to drink, it still be better than dyin' by steel or kindness... but not by much. Could be used to clean wounds from steel or kindness... arrgh
This feels like the vodka of rums: a little burn with a light taste. Serviceable for mixing with other rums without overpowering (like a Rum runner), for rum & Coke, or for drinks where people don't like an alcohol taste. It's also hella cheap and good for that price.
Strong alcohol smell and taste, very little flavors besides ethanol. Very mild Hints of vanilla in smell and flavor, maybe it will be better in a cocktail with other flavors that masks this.
For its price point it’s not bad. Another reviewer mentioned it’s unique for its price point and I agree. Want a switch up from your usual Bacardi and coke? This is a nice little palate switcher. Pleasant I would say more so than Bacardi superior. I put this on par with Naked Turtle Light but they have different flavors to them
Total middle of the road white rum at a great price point. I won’t retread what has already been marketed to you, but it’s got a little more body than your Bacardi or Don Q as it’s a filtered lightly aged rum. Naturally, it has a little more flavor, too. It still comes off bracing and crisp like its Spanish brethren, so I can’t sip it straight, but it goes well as a blend or in a cocktail calling for this style. Easily replaces the above mentioned brands for its accessibility and value.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

This is my go to for a rail rum for mixed drink, and it is better than bacardi as a mixer.
