Harsh nose but let it sit, add a bit of ice to calm it and sip slowly. Not great but not bad.
This is $9.00 in my area - great mixing rum for sure. Makes a surprisingly decent Daiquiri. I get hints of vanilla and coconut, light sweetness. I don't get the alcohol on the nose that some others report. It is definitely there, more so in the mouth, but not bad as taste goes. It is a bit warm going down, but very doable. Short finish as I would expect. Wow, you could do a lot worse than this for more money but probably not much better for the price! I'm impressed for what you get and recommend trying it out.
Hadn't actually tried this one until I flew across the USA a few months back. The inflight crew operating the beverage cart had only this rum to chose from.
It was sweet, clean, and easily drinkable. Some unpleasant aromas and flavors. Ethanol and a weird fake fruit smell.
I ordered a double Cruzan with ginger ale and two lime packets. It was a great choice considering it was the only rum available.
Light rum is pretty much garbage and I've never been a fan. It's used because it keeps drinks alcoholic while still looking "pretty" but it usually tastes awful by itself. I wouldn't say this product is good alone but I would say it's at least reasonable and it's way better than it's competition. First off, it's aged, making it smoother than any light rum I've had. It also has a real flavor (not a great one but decent.) There's also a slight sweetness that again, others don't have. While this may sound underwhelming (and it is,) at least it doesn't smell and taste like kerosene, like MOST light rum does. If you're wanting a clear rum, accept no substitute!
I will be completely honest, I would not drink this straight, but as a mixer, I wouldn't drink anything else. I have no idea why, but Cruzan just seems to mix well in almost anything I use it for. Pina coladas, Cuba libres, what have you, it just goes well.
One of the best whites Ive had. Barely any funk, not expensive and flavours are kept under control to allow it to be drank readily without that twitching if the face. Likely the best white Ive had so I shall get some more to be used as a go to mixer.
Light taste would be good with Pepsi as a mixer. Not my type of sipping rum. A little bite at the end.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

My go-to for white rum mixer. Two years aged, has a nice maple syrup and molasses taste on the tongue. Could be a sipper in a pinch, I suppose.
