Velmi dobrý klasický suchý rum, dal bych 7,5. Typická jamajka a typický appleton.

Eye: not too dark. Light bronze / gold.
Nose: choccolate and wood. Anice. Warm.
Mouth: Straight away to the alcohol feeling that pure spirts can give. Sharp and dry. Neat. Anice entrance. A bit of aged wood in the end. Also some metallic taste.

Appleton Estate 12YO is the benchmark against which I judge other rums. The quality is high, the price is low, and availability is widespread.

Nose: Brown sugar, molasses, orange jelly; ground cloves and a dash of ginger. Big and funky, rich and engaging.

Taste: Mild brown sugar sweetness, lots of baking spice. The nose truly predicts the palate. Finishes funky with molasses and floral undertones, fading to barrel tannin and a mild hint of solvent.

Overall: An excellent rum, one that gives the category legitimacy as a fine sipping spirit. Also ideal in a mai tai or rum old fashioned, or to make a superior classic daiquiri.

Cheers!

I was expecting a little bit more from this bottle. I had to try it few times to finally find better side of this rum.

Smoith, limited on the nose and smooth going down , but an aftertaste that lingers

Your typical rum flavors but add a little jamaican funkiness, and spiciness. Great tasting and smells like i should be on the beach. Nice as a mixer or sipper. It tastes a lot like Doorly's 12 year but it cost $15 more.
